Travel Guide - Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is the perfect destination for Summer. Known for its production of limoncello liqueur, you’ll also be stunned by the incredible views, grottos, and beach.

Sorrento

Sorrento, which gets its name from the mythological Greek Sirens is the home of limoncello. It is a vibrant city with many shops, restaurants, and a beautiful beach where you can rent sunbeds for the day. We stayed in Sorrento and highly recommend you to stay there, as it is less busy than Positano.

Our favourite restaurant in Sorrento is Da Filippo. The scenery is beautiful and picturesque with lemon trees. The service is impressive - the restaurant car came to pick us up from our hotel and dropped us back home free of charge. The food is delicious - we had pizzas and tiramisu (their tiramisu is to die for) and the atmosphere is vibrant.

Shopping Street

Sorrento is full of artisan and souvenir shops. You can get bespoke leather sandals, leather bags, dresses, and accessories. You can also buy souvenirs and limoncello. You’ll also find local ice cream shops - their lemon and pistachio gelatos were my favourites. We also highly recommend ‘Cafe Creme’, which is coffee mixed with cream.

Bagni Regina Giovanna

Hidden natural swimming pool in a secluded beach. It is absolutely breathtaking and we highly recommend you to go there for a swim. However, be prepared to hike (not for the faint hearted).

Positano

Positano is a beautiful, little beach town in Italy on the Amalfi Coast, famous for its colorful buildings, excellent restaurants, shops and picturesque coastline. We went there by boat from Sorrento for the day. It is quite packed with tourists. There are many stairs and it is on a hill, so be prepared to walk.

Positano Beach

Positano Beach sits at the base of the colourful village of Positano. There are many restaurants by the beach where you can enjoy the view and relax.

We had dinner at Da Vincenzo, which is a Michelin star restaurant, that opened in 1958. It has a beautiful decor, really nice views over the cliffs and friendly service. I had the seafood pasta, which was delicious.

Capri

The island of Capri is famous its natural beauty, delicious cuisine and world-class shopping. It's also a place to see and be seen – there's a reason why so many celebrities anchor their yachts in Marina Grande. We did a boat excursion from Sorrento to Capri.

Boat Tour

We did a boat tour to Capri, which was so fun. There was music and complimentary drinks on board. The crew was young and fun. We met people from all over the world.

Grotto

You can visit the Blue Grotto, known as the Grotta Azzura. It has become one of the most famous natural attractions in Southern Italy for its enchanting bright blue waters. The space to get in is quite narrow, so we wouldn’t recommend it if you are claustrophobic.

Cabrio Experience

You can do a tour in a vintage cabriolet and enjoy beautiful scenic views with your friends and take gorgeous videos and pictures, perfect for Instagram.

Capri Beach

The beach in Capri is gorgeous - the water is clear and turquoise and with scenic cliffs. Don’t let it fool you though, as the water is still cold. The only downside to this beach is that there are many people, so it is quite difficult finding a spot.
